FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
Why Ayurveda?
Among the various system of
traditional medicine, Ayurveda is probably the only holistic system in
the world that maintains and promotes positive health as well as acting
at a preventative level. Its scope is not limited to any geographical
region but is universal in its approach. Ayurvedic remedies are like
strong food supplements that work with the body system.
Can the Ayurvedic
herbs be taken with other traditional or herbal products?
Ayurvedic herbs can be taken in
conjunction with products from other traditional systems i.e. Chinese,
Homeopathy & Herbal medicines. When for the same condition, they should
be complimentary, however if for a different condition they should be
taken with a time gap. It is always advisable to inform your therapist
or practitioner when using Ayurvedic remedies alongside other treatments
or remedies.
Is their any
interaction between Ayurvedic herbs and pharmaceutical products?
Generally not, however we would
advise a gap between taking any Ayurvedic products and pharmaceutical
medication. Also in some cases it is advisable to be cautious as the
combined positive effect maybe excessive i.e. Valerian (Tagara) with any
sedative, Boerhaavia diffusa (Punarnava) and Tribulus (Gokshura) with
any diuretic.
Can
I take more than one product or herb at the same time?
Yes, one may take more than one
product at the same time if they are for a similar condition. If for
different conditions they can be taken at different times or with a gap
of 60 minutes.
