Do Ayurvedic
products have any side effects?
If taken as per instructions or
under guidance of a qualified person there are no side effects. However,
as herbs do have therapeutic and health-promoting properties, it is
possible that certain individuals may experience an undesired effect. In
case of any doubt or unusual feeling please contact us.
Can
your products be taken during pregnancy or breast-feeding?
It
would not be advisable without the advice of a practitioner or a
herbalist. Except certain herbs, which are, helpful at these times
i.e. Shatavari, which promotes production of breast milk.
What if I conceive
or am trying for a baby; is it safe to take your products?
Generally, it is advisable to
consult a practitioner if pregnant. However, herbs like Asparagus
racemosus (Shatavari), tribulus (Gokshura) and Withania (Ashwagandha)
are considered to have a beneficial effect on fertility.
Are the products
safe for children? If so what dosage?
Under the age of 16, the products should be taken under
the guidance of a practitioner. Over 16s can take it at
normal adult dosage. Exceptions are Chyavanprash Jam that
can be taken up to 1/2 tsp twice a day, by children aged
over 5.
When is the best
time to take herbs?
Ideal time to take remedies is 30
minutes before food with warm water unless otherwise advised. In cases
of weak digestion remedies can be taken 30 mins after food. In case a
dose is missed it can be taken at anytime.
Is there any way I
can avoid swallowing capsules as I find it difficult?
Capsules
can be opened, emptied and mixed with small quantity of water, and
taken to prevent discomfort.
